About the Author

Hi!  My name is Tara and I live with my husband and daughter on our family’s 8th generation farm in Eastern North Carolina.  I like to describe our farming lifestyle as “organized chaos” where mother nature tends to dictate the daily agenda unless it is Sunday, in which priorities are always church and then precious family time!

My passion for the industry carries over with my day job of teaching high school agriculture and being a FFA Advisor.  On rare occasions of down time I enjoy photography, reading, scavenging for antiques, and hiking.  All of those come in a distant second to spending quality time with my sweet little family that God has entrusted me with!

It is my hope that this blog may be a place where I can share thoughts on faith, family, and farming with you…and that through these writings you might #1 feel God’s love, #2 spark a new idea to try, and #3 gain a better understanding and appreciation for the agriculture industry.

If you’d like to see more snapshots of daily life on our family farm (or super cute wardrobe outfits my tomboy of a daughter will let me dress her in from time to time), follow me on Instagram @farmerswifesouthernlife!

“This is the day that the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.”  – Psalm 118:24
